Hotel Sablon, a boutique hotel in the heart of historical Bruges, effortlessly combines the old and the new. While being the oldest hotel in the city, it is also one of the most trendy, taking you from 16th century Bruges through to today with its mix of historic architecture and contemporary art and furnishings. Choose from a range of unique rooms or suites, each with its own character and relax in elegant luxury before exploring the canals and streets of the city.
There are three types of rooms to choose from, a Single Room, a Sablon Room or a Sablon Deluxe Room. They are all beautifully furnished and feature luxurious beds, stylish modern bathrooms and LED smart TVs. Room service will be on hand to ensure you have everything you need or you could head downstairs to ‘The Living Room’ for a cocktail or a coffee. Breakfast is served in the lounge every morning, serving up produce chosen by the chef from local providers.
If you’re looking for even more luxury or are perhaps booking for a special occasion, there are also five suites available. From the charming Sablon Junior Suite to the vast and elegant Loft, there’s a suite for every occasion. If you’re travelling with family, The Family Residence caters comfortably for four, or there’s the Sablon Maison Suite where you’ll be able to hear the sound of the carillon in the belfry. If you’re looking for a bit of inspiration, the Verlaine Suite pays homage to the French poet who often stayed at the hotel, meeting fellow artists and poets.
Bruges, often known as ‘the Venice of the North’, is a city rich in history, culture and romantic charm. Stroll along medieval streets or sit by canals and soak up the atmosphere. Wander through charming squares, past many boutique shops and cafes, to the striking contemporary concert hall. There are beautiful churches and museums to visit, such as the Groeninge museum which houses famous works of Belgian art. Or, take it all in from above with a helicopter flight above the city, the Port of Zeebrugge and the Belgian coast. There’s also a thriving food scene in Bruges with beer and chocolate in abundance and many restaurants recommended by the likes of the Michelin Guide.
