The quirky nature of the Artist Residence is not just in its design but in its overarching concept and foundation. The co-founder, Justin, inspired by the Brighton art scene, sent out an ad for artists to decorate the rooms in return for board. The result; hundreds of artists descended on the building decorating the walls, floors and ceilings with all manner of murals, compositions and creations. The bohemian spirit of the city is bottled in these rooms and the wide selection of room types for all occasions means that customers of all persuasions can find something unique for their desired experience.
Featuring 24 bedrooms, the Artist Residence has plenty to offer depending on the kind of break you desire. Romantic night for two? Try the affordable tiny balcony sea view, you will get bespoke furniture and a delightful balcony overlooking the iconic West Pier. Looking for a place to crash with mates? Try the Bunk House which sleeps four, has a rain shower and has a prime location… it's nearest to the bar! Most rooms boast a king bed as standard and all of them are individual in their decoration, so comfort and eccentricity are guaranteed no matter what you opt for.
The neighbourhood bar, the Clubhouse, located on the ground floor provides a vibrant communal space overlooking the Brighton seafront. Here you can grab a coffee, cocktail or a delicious meal, the venue is buzzing and provides the perfect location from which to forge your own special adventure prior to exploring the unparalleled entertainment that Brighton has to offer. Currently, from Monday to Wednesday, pioneering pop up restaurant, The Set, are providing an unforgettable culinary experience. With a focus on ingredient-led cooking fuelled with fat and umami, and working with British micro-seasonal ingredients, heritage slow grown vegetables, sustainable seafood and native rare breed meats, it is an inventive dining experience you won’t want to miss!
Situated at the head of Regency Square, originally created as a prestigious Victorian development for the social elite, the Artist Residence is a lively and intriguing part of town, you’re just a stone’s throw from the seafront and close to upmarket Hove and bustling Churchill Square. A 10-minute walk will get you to some of the most celebrated sites around Brighton - including: the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Pier and the marvellous shopping districts of The Lanes and North Laine (containing shops as diverse as the rooms on offer at the hotel).
