Hidden within the woods of West Lexham, you’ll find floating water meadows, ancient trees, lakes and formal gardens for you to explore, as well as an unusual and beautiful spot to rest your head. At Ash Tree Temple and Owl Tree Temple you’re sure of a unique and wonderful stay.
Ash Temple can be described as a cosier and warmer yurt/safari tent/tree house mix, features a huge ash tree growing through it, and is made of oak trunks to resemble a classical round temple. From inside you can watch the dappled sunlight play on the canvas-covered windows or roll them up to look directly out to the trees that surround you as you snuggle down in bed. The reclaimed stained glass windows add colour and light.
Owl Temple is a similar design, and hides away in the eastern woods, a short stroll from the garden kitchen and the campfire. Hugh, reclaimed Georgian sash windows and canvas-covered openings let in the light. Whilst at night the canvas rolls down and you can cosy up to the wood burning stove.
Sleep soundly with soft linen and beautiful, bright goose down covers on your bed, and fairy lights providing a warm, magical glow when the sun goes down. To keep you cosy you’ll find good insulation, extra blankets and hot water bottles, and there’s even a log stove for brewing up that first cup of tea.
Eat well with the garden kitchen equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a wood-fired pizza/bread oven, BBQ and a gas cooker, with plenty of space for everyone to dine together at the large, wooden tables. You’re also guaranteed to be near enough to the super quirky bathrooms, with piping hot showers, flushing vintage coloured loos and basins. From the big camp fire, lit nightly, you’ll enjoy views of the valley and river, and you may like to linger and chat with your fellow campers. Stroll around the garden, row a boat down the lake, or gaze up at the stars and toast marshmallows around the huge camp fire.
