This breathtaking holiday home, spreading out over 330 square metres and nestled in 14 acres of land, is beautifully designed and decorated to offer a truly magnificent getaway for a huge family reunion or a couple of families who enjoy travelling together. With elegant accommodation for up to 18 people it's ideal for those seeking an indulgent all-inclusive holiday without the resort.
Upon arrival you'll be greeted by a large traditional French house with a huge driveway and a very pretty fountain. Surrounded by farmland, you'll spot horses, wild boar and deer.
Inside the property you'll find the original part of the building and an additional extension, both decorated to a very high spec and equally inviting. There is plenty of room for everyone and the space has been designed for people to gather together but for each family to have their own area and privacy should they require it.
The living room gives a real flavour of the building's history with a huge open fireplace, big comfy sofas and lots of interesting ornaments, an ornate mirror and chandelier. There's a large dining table for more formal occasions and the room is perfect for movie nights, curling up with a good book or just lazing around with a big glass of wine.
The heart of all French homes is the kitchen, and this one does not disappoint. Large, airy and fully equipped for the making of delicious meals, it has a massive oak table where everyone can gather to eat cheese and charcuterie at any time of day.
There are eight bedrooms including a pod zone that itself has four private double beds. All bedrooms are modern and comfortable, some with ensuites. The ensuites in particular are very new with deep bathtubs and / or large walk-in showers. Depending on the type of group you are; family, friends, more than one family, the hosts would be happy to talk you through the best use of the accommodation to ensure everyone is where they want to be with everything they need.
Whilst self-catering is an option the hosts have created a package of extra services so that you can tailor your holiday to be similar to an all-inclusive if you so choose. They can drive you anywhere, cook for you, provide all or some of the cleaning services, look after the children and go to the supermarket. Just tell them what you need and they will cater accordingly. Or they will leave you alone, it's entirely your choice!
Outside is somewhat of a piece-de-resistance with a large swimming pool and a rather fabulous poolside bar where you can rest with a cocktail. There are recliners and a large round table surrounding the pool.
When it's time to head out and explore you couldn't be more spoiled. The stunning medieval city of Cahors is only 30 minutes away. Not only a World Heritage Site, it's also home to some great restaurants, markets, fun activities and excellent shopping. Other World Heritage Sites include Rocamadour and its charming ballooning festival, St Cirq Lapopie and the caves of Padirac. The Dordogne and Lot rivers can be explored by boat or kayak and Gindou itself has lovely markets and plenty of weekly activities to keep you entertained.
