Enjoy a stay in Scarborough in a beautiful and historic building sitting in the heart of South Cliff, just a minutes’ from the sea. With four fabulous apartments on offer, each sleeping between two and four guests, The Artists House offers couples, families and friends an idyllic seaside retreat.
The building was once home to the studio of renowned French watercolourist, Paul Marny, and outside is a blue plaque from Scarborough Civic Society that recognises Marny’s time at the house.
The four apartments are all similarly stylish making use of crisp minimalist design, pastel colours and pretty, hardwood floors in their living areas. Each apartment offers a mixture of comfy furnishings and modern amenities, ensuring you have a calming base to retire back to after a day exploring the beaches and coastal towns nearby.
The first apartment is The Artist’s Studio, which features a number of Marny's works of art. This thoughtfully designed two-bedroom apartment features generously sized rooms that are full of natural light. As well as two pretty bedrooms, this apartment also features a stylish, open plan living space with a modern kitchenette, a quaint dining table for four and a sofa sitting in front of a smart TV. There’s also a sleek family bathroom, with a shower over the bath.
Next up is The Grand Bay, which features a similar open plan living space to The Artist’s Studio, and two lovely double bedrooms, making it great for families or pairs of couples looking for a stay by the sea.
Set over two floors, The Garden Flat is a beautiful one-bedroom apartment that’s perfect for a romantic getaway. This apartment has a galley style kitchen and a separate, cosy living room where you can settle in with a glass of wine in the evening. The Garden Flat also has its own private garden with a dining table, festoon lighting, a BBQ and chairs for relaxing. So, when the weather’s warm you and your loved one can get comfy in the sunshine, whip up a feast on the BBQ and dine alfresco in style.
Finally, The Maisonette is a charming, contemporary apartment that sits over two floors. This apartment features a studio-style living space with a double bed, a comfy sofa, a TV and a dining table, whilst the separate kitchen is nicely equipped with modern appliances to make meal prep a breeze. The contemporary shower room is the perfect place to wash off the salt and sand after a day on the beach before heading out to explore Scarborough’s nightlife.
When it comes to filling your days, Scarborough has award winning sandy beaches, breathtaking coastline, wonderful family attractions and some charming pubs, cafes and restaurants on offer. Tucked away on the stunning Yorkshire coast, Scarborough is home to some delightful parks and gardens including Peasholm Park, South Cliff Gardens, Royal Albert Park, St. Nicholas Gardens and Oliver's Mount Country Park.
If you’re looking for attractions to visit during your stay then you may wish to visit Europe's largest open air theatre, the historic Scarborough Castle and the fantastic Alpamare Waterpark. Kids will also love Sealife Scarborough!
