With quirky interiors, the Room at the Races is a luxurious property in the heart of rural Cambridgeshire. Sleeping two, this property is lavish and is suitable for any romantic getaway.
The bedroom is furnished with impressive décor, including a double bed complete with a throw, a delightful double sofa topped with colourful pillows, a dressing table with a mirror and desk lamp, a cosy armchair, coffee table, and wardrobe. Perhaps the most impressive element of this room is the rose gold roll-top tin bath with fluffy towels to accompany, perfect for soaking into after a long day of ambling around the Cambridgeshire Fens.
With magnificent glass doors, the main bedroom opens out onto the garden, where guests can enjoy a morning coffee on the terrace whilst sampling stunning views of the Cambridgeshire greenery. The garden also offers up a table and chairs, perfect for entertaining guests during the summer months. Tucked around the corner from the main bedroom, guests will find a Nespresso machine complete with pods and mugs, a contemporary stone sink and a small coffee table with velvet pouffes on which to perch. The bathroom features an opulent shower with a glass door, mirror and toilet.
Located in the throes of rural Cambridgeshire, the Room at the Races has it all. Enjoy a day out in the historic city of Cambridge, apt for museum lovers with the Fitzwilliam Museum, the Museum of Zoology, the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences and the Museum of Classical Archaeology. For those with green fingers, the Cambridge University Botanic Garden is imperative, and the Bridge of Sighs, King’s College Chapel and the Round Church make for great architectural viewing.
Cambridgeshire also boasts an array of impressive National Trust sites, including Anglesey Abbey, Houghton Mill, Wicken Fen Nature Reserve, and the Wimpole Estate including a rare breeds farm and gorgeous views of the Cambridgeshire flats. Further afield in Ely, guests can indulge in a trip to the historic Ely Cathedral, Oliver Cromwell's House, the Stained Glass Museum, or even the Jubilee Gardens. Every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, the Ely Markets are in full swing, offering guests the chance to sample some of the finest goods from the farmers market or pick up a few books, crafts or artisan produce.

Leave a reviewWe had the most lovely weekend in the Room at the Races, what a gorgeous place! It's perfectly equipped with so much more than just the essentials, the welcome was friendly and check in/out super easy and the location perfect for strolls into Newmarket, countryside walks but also trips to Cambridge. We had the most comfortable stay and are already planning to return soon. Would highly recommend.
