This exceptional pretty cottage is part of a cosy hamlet consisting of just two other properties; one of which belongs to the friendly owners who are on hand to provide help and advice, holistic therapies and beauty treatments, should you so desire. Peace and tranquillity are very much on the menu here, and should you opt to have any of the treatments or therapies that are on offer, indulgence and pampering are guaranteed too.
Blue window frames and doors highlight La Grange’s cheerful stone-built facade, and the thatched roof provides a topping of charm. Quintessentially Breton in style, the cottage reflects the regions historic beauty. Inside is filled with pretty features; dark wood beams contrast against white ceilings and exposed stone walls, and a wood burning stove crackles away during the Winter months
Three acres of private land is yours to explore when you stay at La Grange. Walk down the lavender scented path and take a dip in the pool; you can even swim in Spring and Autummn as the pool has a retractable cover and is heated. Relax on a lounger by the pretty pond, or play one of the many outdoor games that the owners have provided- table tennis, anyone? When they’re not splashing about in the pool, kids will be thrilled with the play area, whilst the adults can relax on their private patio, drink in hand and the smell of fresh-cut grass in the air.
Nearby there are plenty of beautiful towns and villages. Josselin, a pretty “small town of charm”, set on the Oust River, with medieval style houses bordering narrow streets and an imposing castle, is a lovely place to look around. A trip to the pretty coastal town of Auray will reveal charming side streets, and plenty of enticing seafood restaurants. There are many of beaches, the nearest within thirty minutes drive away, so you will be spoilt for choice on the bucket-and-spade front. Alternatively, hire a bike (or borrow one of the bikes you will find at La Grange) and pedal your way down winding country lanes, or scenic river paths.
