You’ll find this amazing house in the midst of 8 acres of Mediterranean pine forest, where two rivers meet. So dive in, one river you’ll find refreshingly cool, perfect for a high summer dip, whilst the other river is warm enough for young children to play in the shallows. Up and down the riverbanks you’ll find fig trees, dragonflies and frogs, and you may even have the pleasure of spotting a pair of otters.
Up at the house, step inside this domed house and experience a unique design that really makes you feel like you’re living outside. The face of the house is all windows, letting in the light and the beautiful views that surround you.
Downstairs you’ll find a spacious kitchen, with a worktop and cooker that seems to float, and with views out to the pines beyond. Steel supports break up the spaces, from the bar to the dining area to the living space, complete with TV and stereo. Stretching across the 100m2 of the ground floor you’ll also find an entrance hall, a pantry and a ground floor bathroom with washing machine.
The first floor is divided into three bedrooms, two of which have en suite bathrooms. The central bedroom space is ideal for children with two single beds. The double bedrooms both have king sized beds, one of which can easily be divided into two 90cm singles. Should you have more guests, a double sofa bed can accommodate two people in the living room. Outside you’ll find plenty of space for you to eat and sit outdoors under the stars, there’s even an inbuilt BBQ, if you fancy cooking outdoors. Don’t forget to pick some fresh tomatoes from the veggie garden!
And what to do whilst you’re here? How about a trip to the nearby Balneario de Font Calda, a limestone gorge with deep natural swimming pools that’s just perfect for kids? Horta de San Joan, the nearby village, offers plenty of places for sitting out in the sunlit square and soaking up the atmosphere. And don’t miss out on the fantastic local wine; the village of Lledò will welcome you with a tasting at Bodegas Crial. If Vinitourism is your thing, don't miss the opportunity to witness the "Cathedral of Wine" in Pinell de Brai, built in the Modernismo style with soaring brick arches; a worthy homage to Spain's favourite beverage.
