Enjoy peace and tranquillity on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean at Casa da Várzea. This marvellous and contemporary villa sits in the peaceful and pretty Portuguese village of Comporta. Located in the Alcacer region, this stunning property is surrounded by luscious woodland and grounds in beautiful isolation.
Sleeping up to eight adults and four children across five bedrooms, all of which have en suite bathrooms, Casa da Várzea has a variety of social spaces in which to entertain, relax, and unwind. Those staying enter into the spacious open plan living, dining, and kitchen area through sliding glass doors and are greeted by double height ceilings in this impressive room. Comfy sofas sit at one side of the wood burning stove, while on the other is a dining table seating up to eight people and a sleek and fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar.
On the ground floor there is a further seating and dining area with light flooding in via two walls of glass. Upstairs is another light and airy TV room with more stylish sofas and armchairs, along with a couple of guitars for those who enjoy a jam. Coming off this first floor room is the master suite with sumptuous king size bed and private en-suite bathroom. There is a further double bedroom, and there are also two twin rooms. There is also a children's bedroom which accommodates four kids in two bunk beds.
Things don’t get any less impressive when guests step outside into the amazing grounds of Casa da Várzea - all 23ha of them. Here they will discover a large wooden terrace and an array of seating to relax in, from loungers to hammocks. There is also a large outdoor dining table seating up to six people so they can enjoy the Portuguese weather with a drink and alfresco dining. Finally a short walk leads down to the large outdoor swimming pool which is lined with sun loungers.
Situated away from the bustle of the seaside, with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy in total privacy, guests are guaranteed a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere along with breathtaking views of the meadow.
The village of Comporta sits along the Sado Estuary, which is a wetland nature reserve brimming with wildlife. Hire a boat and hit the waters. Alternatively just a short stroll in the opposite direction leads to the golden sands of Comporta’s beach, which is the perfect spot for sun worshippers - who may even spy a dolphin riding the waves.
